I worked in the Lasalle undergound studio yesterday; it wasn't going too bad, except for the desire for natural light and the fridge like temperatures.
I  just thought for a split second to organize a thermometer and try to find out how cold it is in this place and all other places like shopping-centers, restaurants, hotels, office buildings...
Having read that more than 80% of the energy is coming from Malaysia and Indonesia, I assume, that reducing the temperature by just 1°C, would be a much more comfortable feel for the humans (temperature deviations in- and outside) and would lower the cost for energy dramatically.
Singapore does not really have natural resources, the big bonus is the position of the country (all the cargo ships have to pass here) and the well educated workforce.
So of course this country is trying to produce something, which is the trade of goods and offering all kind of services. All the big brands are here, all the relevant bank institutes, maybe therefore this huge amount of shopping-centers to manifest this situation.
Walking through the business district, elevated on artificially filled up land, shows the wealth and the statement made here, fountains in all sizes and illuminated by night and sculptures everywhere between the skyscrapers, which seem to stand in competition for the craziest and the most extravagant constructions.
Finally I reached the harbour, but unfortunately I could not get any closer, maybe this would be an another opportunity to make money from; offering industrial harbour tours.
